so... not necessarily on the list of things to do this summer, but i have caught on to an up-and-coming hobby that many across the country are doing right now. thats right, i'm talking online slingo. oh yeah, geocaching too. it's the art of taking your gps out into the middle of somewhere, looking for a container that someone hid. (trust me, it's more fun than i describe it.) but anyway, here's a list dedicated to the geocachers out there, the soon-to-be geocachers, and the rest of you muggles...

25 reasons to go geocaching

1. it gets you out of the house
2. it gets you out into the streets
3. it gets you looking for a needle in a haystack
4. it's a pretty inexpensive hobby to start
5. it's all about the braggin' rights, baby!
6. it makes climbing trees more fun
7. decoding hints are a fun mental challenge
8. it's aggrevating... but a good kind of aggrevating
9. it gets 'em involved... you know, keeps them off the street.
10. because my wife thinks i'm out getting drunk at the bar (thanks, teampearce)
11. it helps you develop an immunity to bug bites and poison ivy
12. getting stuck in the mud in sandals is quite possibly the greatest feeling your feet will ever experience
13. finding eleven cents in an altoids tin can actually be rewarding
14. when your youth pastor does a sermon on it in church, you know it must be big
15. it's not shameful for a man to get down on his hands and knees once in a while
16. acting innocent while obviously looking for something has never been so much fun
17. it gives internet geeks a chance to step outside and get some sunshine, and with a purpose, too!
18. sure beats american idol!
19. "geomuggle" is just a funny word
20. if i can do it, then it must be kinda easy...
21. it gives you an excuse to not run on the treadmill today

23. there is no greater joy than getting an FTF
24. you can take a family vacation without leaving town
