have you ever played catch phrase before? its a really fun game. you oughta play it. simply put, it's like "pyramid" on steroids, blended with hot potato. you have a disk, which shows a word or phrase for you to get your teammates to say, by giving verbal clues, charading, singing, whatever it takes. simultaneously, there's a nice little timer beeping at an increasing speed. after a random amount of time, it buzzes off, and the team not stuck holding the disk gets a point.

have you ever played homegrown catch phrase? whenever you don't have the actual catch phrase game with you, just have everyone take some paper, write down a whole ton of words, tear up the papers to individual phrases, and throw them all in a big pile. when it's your turn, grab a paper from the pile, and describe away.
